Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Budgeting: The Directorate of Finance is responsible for creating and managing the council’s budget. This involves assessing the financial needs of various projects, departments, and services and allocating funds accordingly.
Accounting and Financial Reporting: The department maintains accurate financial records, tracks expenditures, and prepares financial statements. It ensures transparency and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Revenue Collection: The Directorate of Finance oversees the collection of revenue, such as taxes, fees, and fines. It ensures that all revenue is collected accurately and promptly.
Expense Management: The department manages the disbursement of funds for various expenses, including salaries, operational costs, and project expenditures. It ensures that expenses are in line with the approved budget.
Financial Analysis: The Directorate of Finance conducts financial analysis to assess the financial health of the council. This includes evaluating financial trends, performance metrics, and making informed recommendations.
