There are 2 major growth centers; Farafenni and Barra. Due to the businesses operating in those centres, there is a lot of waste generated and on a daily basis, the council collects waste from the markets and garages and disposes of it at the major dump sites.
At Farafenni, Council has 2 tractors and 2 tri-cycles and 7 waste collectors
Farafenni has 4 legal temporal dump sites and 27 other illegal sites where waste is indiscriminately dumped
Barra Council has 2 tractors currently operating.
Three of the Lumos are provided with tri-cycles.
