About Kerewan Area Council: Kerewan Area Council is a local government institution responsible for the administration and management of local affairs in the Kerewan area. As we continue to grow and serve our community, we are seeking a dedicated and highly organized individual to join our team as a Secretary. 

Position Summary: The Secretary will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and efficient administration of Kerewan Area Council. This role involves providing administrative support, maintaining records, and facilitating effective communication within the organization. The successful candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple tasks with precision and contribute to the overall success of the council. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Organize and maintain official records, documents, and databases. 
  • Assist in the preparation of meetings, agendas, and official documents. 
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communication, including email and phone inquiries. 
  • Manage appointments, schedules, and travel arrangements for council members. 
  • Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information. 
  • Collaborate with council members and staff to facilitate effective communication. 
  • Perform general clerical and administrative duties as required. 

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of a high school diploma is required; higher qualifications in administration or a related field are a plus. 
  • Proven experience as a secretary or administrative assistant. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). 
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. 
  • Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
